A stomach ulcer sometimes called a peptic or gastric ulcer is a tiny sore that forms in the stomach lining. When stomach ulcers are found early, they can be easily treated, but if they aren’t, they can lead to major consequences.
Understanding the symptoms of stomach ulcers is critical to receiving the therapy you require.
In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some signs you will notice when you are developing a stomach ulcer.
1. Burning pain in your upper abdomen (Stomach)
A burning or gnawing ache in your upper stomach is the most typical symptom of a stomach ulcer (abdomen). When your stomach is empty, the pain usually happens at night or between meals. Food, beverages, and antacids can all help to relieve the pain briefly. It can appear and disappear at any time, and it can last anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.
2. Heart Burn
Heartburn is another sign of an ulcer. Heartburn is a condition in which stomach acid rises into the oesophagus. This causes a burning sensation beneath your breastbone or in your upper abdomen.
3. Vomiting and Nausea
Ulcer-induced nausea can occasionally become so severe that it makes you vomit. Mild to severe nausea may arise as a result of a digestive system imbalance, either first thing in the morning on an empty stomach or after eating.
4. A change in the colour of your stool
If your stool is unusually dark in colour, it could be an indication of an ulcer. The most common source of black stools is a bleeding ulcer. If an ulcer develops in a person’s stomach, it might cause bleeding, which can result in dark, tarry stools.
