A healthy diet and regular exercise are important to keeping our bodies healthy. We also need to specifically do what we can to keep our kidneys healthy.
According to Healthline, an unhealthy kidney causes nephrolithiasis, a common condition in which crystals of calcium or other substances build up on the kidneys. It is one of the most common causes of pain in the lower back.
This occurs because the kidneys are the two organs located on the lower left side of our back. They are responsible for filtering waste from the blood and excreting it as urine.
They are also the major organs responsible for regulating the water, salt, and potassium levels in your body. The importance of drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated cannot be overemphasized.
If you’re not doing your best to keep your kidneys healthy, you may be at risk for kidney disease or other medical conditions.
In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some daily habits that could help your kidneys stay healthier.
1. Drinking water is one of the most important things you can do to make your kidneys healthier. If you are not getting enough water, you may be dehydrated. Dehydration can cause many health problems that will affect your kidneys.
The best way to prevent dehydration is to drink 8 to 10 cups of water or other fluids every day. Stay away from caffeine, alcohol, and sugar. Drinks that contain these three things can cause your kidneys to lose water.
2. Eating a healthy diet is a great thing you can do for your kidneys. This is because your kidneys filter your blood and help remove waste from your body. If you are not eating a healthy diet, then you will be filling your body with harmful toxins.
These toxins will accumulate in your kidneys, which can lead to the development of kidney disease. Furthermore, a healthy diet can help you lose weight and avoid diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
3. Exercise is a great way to make your kidneys healthier. You can start small and work your way up by doing exercises that will improve your lymphatic system and make you sweat.
4. Keep the lungs clean by avoiding tobacco smoking. An unhealthy lung will eventually damage the kidneys and vice versa. Avoid sitting for long periods and make sure your brain is active while sitting.
5. Floss your teeth at least once a day to remove food remnants that can become stuck between them. Brush your tongue very well. You can also take a daily multivitamin supplement to improve your kidneys.
