After lunch, most individuals take a short break to do something that takes their minds off of things and helps them relax.
These habits have become increasingly common over time, and while they may be practised unconsciously in some cases, they are not always beneficial to one’s health.
At first glance, they might seem harmless, but over time, they can lead to annoying symptoms or even serious health problems.

5 Bad Signs You Are Not Eating Enough Food
In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we will look at some things you should never do immediately after eating.
1. Sleeping
Lying down or napping too soon after eating can cause gastrointestinal distress for some people.
Some people find this to be relaxing and helpful, but it’s important to keep in mind that it might have a negative effect on digestion and should be avoided until after mealtime.
A person’s gastric acids aren’t able to adequately coat the food in their stomach when they’re lying down. The nutrients in meals cannot be absorbed by the body in this way.
The acidity of these substances can also irritate the oesophagus, making swallowing painful.
2. Smoking
Smoking is bad for your health, especially your lungs and heart, is a fact. Many people don’t know that it’s especially dangerous to smoke after they’ve eaten.
Nicotine facilitates the rapid absorption of carcinogens because it binds to the oxygen released after digestion.
3. Eating fruit
Some people believe that eating fruit between meals is a healthy way to supplement the more substantial meals they’ll be eating. It tastes good, can be used in a variety of ways, and gives the impression of being a wholesome alternative to regular desserts.
However, not everyone is aware that fruit should be eaten on an empty stomach.
Fruit comprises natural sugars that take more time to absorb since they are digested using various enzymes.
If you eat it first thing in the morning, your body will have a better chance of absorbing the fibre and simple carbohydrates that provide it with energy.
If taken after a large meal, however, it will take longer for the stomach to empty, increasing the likelihood of bloating, gas, and other unpleasant side effects.
4. Taking a shower
In the morning, a refreshing shower is a terrific way to get your day started and in shape, but it’s best to wait at least an hour before jumping in the shower so as not to impede digestion.
It does this by diverting blood flow from the abdomen to the lower extremities and the rest of the body.
The result is a decline in its normal functions, accompanied by pain, swelling, and heaviness across the affected area.
