5 Things You Will Notice Before A Heart Attack

Your heart is like the central organ that keeps all the other organs in your body functioning. It pumps blood and regulates our respiratory system.

According to Healthline, when you’re about to have a heart attack, you will notice certain things going on in your body that characterize a heart attack.

In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some things you would notice before a heart attack.

1. Frequent cough

You will notice that you’re coughing frequently. When the muscles of the heart become weak, the lungs can become clogged, which causes heart congestion.

You cough frequently to try to get rid of the congestion in your lungs. If your consistent cough is associated with chest pain and spitting of colored mucus, you need to go for a medical examination.

2. Swelling in the ankles

You will notice swelling in your ankles, feet, or legs. This can happen when your heart finds it difficult to pump your blood against gravitational forces in the body. When the movement of blood lacks support, it causes some extremities of your body to swell.

You will also notice that your kidneys become weaker in handling the concentration of salt in your body. This will cause some parts of the body to become bloated. If you notice you have swollen feet, this can be a consequence of clogged arteries that can lead to stroke.

3. Heavy snoring at night

If you notice or they tell you that you snore heavily each time you sleep, this can strain your heart and cause a heart attack.

This sleep disorder is characterized by a short-term cessation of respiration and can make you gasp for breath while sleeping. Persistent sleep apnea that is left untreated can cause heart problems.

4. Irregular heartbeat

You will notice that you have an irregular heartbeat. You are sleeping very well. You haven’t had any coffee or done any exercise, but your heartbeat is racing. Your heartbeat also skips frequently and can make you uncomfortable, cause anxiety, or cause neck pain.

5. Loss of memory

You will notice that you are experiencing a loss of memory or confusion. One of the causes is arteriosclerosis.
