EFCC Warns Nigerians, Releases List of 58 Ponzi Schemes (Full List)

- EFCC has identified 58 fake investment companies running illegal Ponzi schemes that are not registered with the CBN or SEC.
- Some of these companies have been convicted or pleaded guilty, while others are still under investigation or awaiting trial.
- The public is advised to be cautious and verify any investment platform with the appropriate financial regulators before committing money.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is warning Nigerians about 58 fake investment companies operating across the country.
These companies pretend to be real businesses, but they are actually running Ponzi schemes—scams where people are tricked into investing their money with the promise of high returns.
None of these companies are registered or approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) or the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Both regulators have confirmed in letters to the EFCC that the companies are not licensed.
