1. Use the right pot and burner.
Use the proper pot on the right burner while cooking. Use a large burner when cooking with a large pot, and the smallest burner when cooking with a small pot. In this way, the amount of gas burned will match the burner’s size. The use of small pots on a large burner is a waste of cooking gas.
2. Use the proper cover to keep your cooking pot covered.
Make sure the pot cover is properly positioned if you want your cooking gas to last longer. While cooking, covering the pot will prevent steam from escaping which will end up speeding the cooking process.
3. Frequently service and maintain your gas burner and cylinder.
Every component of your gas cooker should be cleaned and inspected regularly to detect damage, blockages, and leakages. Also, be sure to switch off your gas regulator completely after using it.
4. Gather everything you need before starting to cook.
Before you turn on your cooking gas, make sure all your recipes are available. Do not fire your cooking gas if you do not yet have everything you need for cooking in your kitchen; otherwise, you will be wasting your cooking gas.
5. Ensure that the flame is properly covered by the bottom of the cooking pot.
Allowing the flame from your cooking gas extend past the bottom of your cooking pot is one of the main causes of cooking gas waste. Heat is released from the pot as a result of flames that extend past the bottom. If the heat is not utilized by the pot and its contents, it is a wasted resource.

6. Before cooking, defrost frozen foods.
Before you cook, spend a few minutes defrosting or melting frozen food to speed up the cooking process. By lowering the amount of heat energy required to bring it down to room temperature, you may end up using more cooking gas than necessary.
