EKO HOT BLOG reports that eminent Nigerians, foreign diplomats, families and friends, market women and men, well-wishers, among others, thronged the late Alhaji Rabiu Olusesi’s family residence at no 90, Okepopo street Lagos Island, Lagos, for his 8th day Fidau prayer which took place on Thursday 16th December 2021.

Alhaji Olusesi Dawodu, a founding member of Eko Club Florida and the first elected president Eko Club International, USA, CANADA and EUROPE passed away at 75 on Thursday, December 9, 2021, and has been buried according to Islamic rites.

Various Muslim clerics who offered prayers and gave sermons at the well-attended event, preached on the need for men to make humility their watchword even as they urged all those in positions of authority as well as everyone still alive to emulate the life of service to humanity as exemplified by the late Olusesi.

Eko Club Florida also held a Fidau prayer in Miami, Florida, on Sunday, Dec 19th 2021 in honour of the late illustrious son of Lagos.

President Emeritus EKO Club International and Publisher of EKO HOT BLOG, Otunba T J Abass, in his tribute, extolled the passion and dedication of the late Alhaji Olusesi towards the advancement of humanity and the prosperity of Lagos.

“Alhaji Olusesi is no doubt an illustrious son of Lagos whose love, passion and dedication to Eko are unequalled, and his dedication to advance the course of a movement for Lagosians in Diaspora that started about 23 years ago cannot be questioned.

“Life they say is like a journey where all of us will all embark and of course a point of dismemberment where we’ll alight during our sojourn in life.”

“Life they say have an expiration period, but the time and the moment is what we don’t know. And that is just an attestation to the supremacy, to the sovereignty of the almighty God who is the omnipresent and omnipotent, who knows it all, which has the power and authority over all mortals”

“He decides when to take our lives, he decides when to bring us to the world, were not questioning his authority, but we thank him for giving us an opportunity to have met Alhaji Olusesi a long time ago on the high way of existence.”

“He has lived his wonderful life, no doubt about that. He lived a life of distinction and he has graduated with distinction, may his soul continue to rest in peace. It’s no doubt a great loss for Eko club international family, his family, and Lagos state. We take consolation of the fact that God is the giver and taker of life.”

“Where he is today, we all will go there; where we are today he used to be there. That’s why we need to live a life of impact whenever we have an opportunity because what we do today will become history tomorrow, he lamented.”

Otunba Abass made a prayer for the soul of the departed on behalf of Eko Club International.

“So Alhaji Olusesi Daudu, on behalf of all of us at Eko Club International, we say may your soul continue to rest in peace, we love you. Please rest in the blossom of the Almighty God, the Otunba prayed.”
