REVEALED: Salami Panel Has Two Weeks To Submit Magu’s Probe Report To Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari gave presidential panel probing the activities of suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, 45 days to submit its report to him.
Magu first appeared before the presidential a month ago, which leaves the panel with less than two weeks to make available the outcome of his investigation to the president Buhari.
The details of the ultimate was contained in a letter signed by the president where he approved the establishment of a judicial commission of enquiry under the Tribunals of Inquiry Act (Cap T21, LFN, 2004), to investigate the allegations levelled against Magu.
According to the letter, the president mandated the panel to submit its report 45 days “from its first public sitting”.
Magu was whisked away by a combined team of DSS operatives and officers from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) on July 6, 2020, and then taken before the panel.
The panel is investigating of the allegation of financial impropriety and insubordination levelled against the former helmsman of the country’s foremost anti-graft agency.
Persons named as members of the panel are Ayo Salami, retired president of the court of appeal, (north-central), who is the chairman; Anthony Ogbizi Michael, deputy inspector-general of police, (south-south) as deputy chairman, and Kazeem Attitebi (south-west) as secretary.

Others members of the panel are Muhammad Abubakar Babadoko, ministry of justice (north-central); Hassan Yahaya Abdullahi (DSS) (north-central); Muhammad Shamsuddeen office of the auditor general of the federation (north-west) and Douglas Egweme (NFIU) (south-east).
