Man In Court Over Assault Of 100-Year-Old Woman
A 27-year-old man, simply identified as Abdullahi Salisu, who allegedly assaulted a 100-year-old woman on Tuesday, appeared in Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court.
Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi, revealed that the defendant committed the offence August 16, 2020 around 3.45 p.m. at Sabo, Ile-Ife.
Abdullahi Salisu and others at large, allegedly attacked Bintu Adamu and inflicted injuries on her forehead.
They also attacked a housewife, Mrs Uman Adamu, 20.
The Police officer said the offences contravened the provisions of sections 355 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2020.

Salisu pleaded not guilty to three counts of conspiracy, assault and causing hurt.
Defence Counsel, Leke Dada, pleaded for bail in most liberal terms.
Magistrate A. A. Ayeni admitted him to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like amount.
They must swear to the affidavit of means and reside within the court.
The matter was adjourned until September 24 for hearing.
