- Exhume corpse inside the compound
Ekohotblog, September 5, 2020.
Delta State police have apprehended a Nollywood actor, Nonso Ekene, and gateman over the alleged murder of a businesswoman, Joy Obiageli Onekansi, alias Ada Jesus in Asaba, Ekohotblog reports.
Our correspondent gathered that the incident happened two weeks ago in the two-story building with four flat-apartments, occupied by the actor, the deceased, and the gateman from Niger state, who lives with his family at No 4, Anene Basua See, opposite the Cenotaph GRA.
The duo conspired to murder her, gruesomely stabbed her on different parts of her body and neck before allegedly burying her remains face-down in a shallow pit inside the compound.
Ekohotblog reporter gathered that the family swung into action by involving the police after trying to reach Joy over her wedding plans scheduled to take place in December but all to no avail.

The deceased’s sister, Uche, said she recalled the deceased had reported twice at the Asaba GRA Police Station, about an unwarranted threat to her life by co-tenant.
Uche said, “We all became worried after repeated calls to get an update of her proposed marriage plans as her telephone was switched off all these days.”
After weeks of declaring Joy alias Ada Jesus missing, on August 26, 2020, the police intercepted the gateman trying to escape with his family in the deceased’s Toyota Avalon Car at summit road in Asaba.
When asked to provide documents to the vehicle, the gateman remained mute and was arrested.
Ekohotblog learned that the police had called the family of the deceased to confirm the car.
Meanwhile, shortly after, the gateman led the police to arrest the Nollywood actor, who earlier had allegedly made moves to take the security man out on bail.
Joy’s corpse was exhumed yesterday behind her resident.
Confirming the report, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olaleye Faleye, said his men on August 26 intercepted a black Toyota Avalon saloon car on Summit Road.
Faleye said an ongoing investigation to determine why the murder was committed was yet to be established.
