Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has shared a CCTV frame of soldiers allegedly laying siege near his house in Afaraukwu, Abia State.

Mr Kanu made the photo public on Thursday via Twitter, calling on world leaders to intervene.

“CCTV frame of Nigerian Army laying seige to my house in Afaraukwu,” he wrote.

“@UKinNigeria @USinNigeria @StateDept @EUinNigeria @UN can you see what @NGRPresident is doing with the military aid you gave them to fight Boko Haram. They don’t fight terrorists they kill innocent civilians. #zoo.”

IPOB had issued a sit-at-home directive across the south-east region of the country on October 1.

In a statement on September 23 signed by the group’s spokesman Emma Powerful, IPOB alleged plan by “terrorist groups to slaughter our children” if they go out to celebrate or march on Independence Day.
