US Election: Obama Advises Trump On What To Do Amid Biden’s Victory


Former United States President Barack Obama has reached out to his successor, Donald Trump, over his refusal to concede the presidential election to Joe Biden, .

Speaking during an interview on CBS News programme, 60 Minutes, Obama implored Trump to put America first and accept the outcome of the election.

In the Sunday night broadcast,  Obama noted that a President is a public servant and a temporary occupant of the office.

“And when your time is up, then it is your job to put the country first and think beyond your own ego, and your own interests, and your own disappointments.

“My advice to President Trump is, if you want at this late stage in the game to be remembered as somebody who put country first, it’s time for you to do the same thing,” Obama said.

Trump is not backing down on his position that Biden did not win the November 3 election.

On Monday, Trump accused the media of presuming that his challenger would become the United States President.

But results from states showed that Biden won 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232.
