The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), has conferred its most prestigious honour, the fellowship of the society, on Engineer Muminu Adekunle Badmus.
Badmus is one of 120 engineers that are awarded the coveted honour on Monday at the conferment ceremony held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
Speaking on the development, Badmus, said the attainment of Fellow, of the NSE, is a great motivation for professionals in the discipline.
He noted that the conferment means a lot to him, adding that it will serve as a source of inspiration for other engineers.
“It is a big deal, a great deal, it is a crown and a motivation not only to me but to all these other engineers that are coming behind me and they see something to emulate”, he added.
He pledged to continue to mentor younger engineers in order to encourage them to grow in the profession.

In his remarks at the ceremony, NSE president, Engineer Babagana Mohammed said the fellows had been screened and found worthy in learning, practice and character to join the league of elite professionals. Engr Mohammed urged the new fellows to uphold the ethics of the society in the discharge of their duties.
“It is your responsibility to be role models for younger engineers and those who need the inspiration to join the engineering family”, the President charged the new fellows.
In his remarks earlier, the Chairman Board of Fellows, College of Fellows, Felix Atume also harped on the need for the fellows to ensure ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties.
As gathered by Eko Hot Blog, the Minister of Power, Engineer Mamman Saleh and the Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria Sule Abdulaziz were among those conferred with the fellowship at Monday’s event.
