Election Violence In Ghana Leaves Five Dead
Police in Ghana on Wednesday said no fewer than five people lost their lives in election-related incidents.
Ekohotblog reports that Ghana conducted its presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7 election.
But police said over 60 violence-related incidents have been recorded since election day, adding that 21 of the incident are connected to the election.
“Twenty-one of the incidents are true cases of electoral violence, six of which involve gunshots resulting in the death of five,” the police said.
The development comes after independent observers congratulated Ghana for conducting largely peaceful polls.

The atmosphere in the west Africa country has been choked with uncertainty and apprehension as the two major contenders try to out do one and other.
There were ten presidential candidates vying for the highest office in the country but the contest was two hours race between President Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and John Mahama, presidential candidate of National Democratic Congress (NDC).
