Former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke has been granted permission to travel for a medical checkup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja gave the permission on Friday, rejecting the objection raised by a lawyer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Bala Sanga.
The court held that the issue of whether or not to grant such an application was within the court’s discretion.
The presiding judge said Adoke can travel from Dec. 15 and return on Jan. 10, 2021, a day before the scheduled resumption of his trial.

Justice Ekwo ordered the release of the AGF’s international passport, noting that it must, however, be returned to the court within two days of his return from the foreign trip.
The matter was adjourned till Jan. 11 for trial continuation.
Adoke is facing a 14-count charge of money laundering alongside businessman, Aliyu Abubakar.
