BREAKING: Gov. Aminu Tambuwal Goes Into Self-Isolation

Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, is self-isolating after coming in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19, Eko Hot Blog reports.

The governor disclosed this known via his official Twitter handle @AWTambuwal, adding that he had undergone a COVID-19 test.

“Gov @AWTambuwal goes into isolation after coming in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19. The Deputy Gov will oversee all activities of the state pending the outcome of the test result of the Governor,” the tweet read.

Tambuwal, if test returns positive, will join governors of Lagos and Plateau who have recently tested positive to the deadly virus.

Since its outbreak in Nigeria, over 76,000 cases of the coronavirus disease has been reported in Nigeria with 1,201 of those resulting in deaths.
