The family of Suleimon Olufemi, a Nigerian, has appealed for the forgiveness of their son from the Saudi Arabian authorities.

Suleimon who has been on death row for 18 years was said to have gone for a lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia in 2002 where he was accused alongside others of being part of a mob action that killed a Police officer.

His family again appealed for clemency and forgiveness for their son from the Saudi Arabian authorities when they visited the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) office in Lagos through Bode Olufemi, the younger brother of Suleiman.

In their reaction, NIDCOM assured the family of Suleimon that the Nigerian Government is doing everything in its capacity to ensure his release.

The NIDCOM’s Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa gave the assurance when she received Suleimon’s family who is appealing to the Saudi authorities for clemency.
