England Loses To Netherlands In Nations League Semi Final

A day after Cristiano Ronaldo produced another sublime performance to take Portugal to the final of the maiden UEFA Nations League, England failed to make it past Netherlands.

Despite starting brightly and going ahead via a Marcus Rashford penalty, England left the field heartbroken again, losing 3-1 after extra time.

Ajax’s 19-year-old defender, Marttijs De Ligt levelled for Holland led brilliany by Virgil Van Dijk, forcing the game into extra time.

An own goal by Kyle Walker in the 97 minutes and a Quincy Promes’ goal in the 114th minute ensured Holland are the team flying into the final

Holland are now set to meet Portugal in the final while England will face Switzerland in the third place play-off on Sunday.
