Rivers Govt. To Inaugurate 6 Roads, Jetty, Says Information Commissioner

The Rivers Government says it would usher in 2021 with the inauguration of six completed road projects in seven Local Government Areas (LGA) of the state.

The state Commissioner of Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim, who announced this in a statement in Port Harcourt, on Saturday, stressed that the inauguration would be done from Jan. 4 to Jan. 9 by specially invited guests, Eko hot blog gathered.

He said amongst the completed projects were, the Eteo-Sime-Nonwa-Kira Road to be inaugurated by Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi on Jan. 4, the Sakpenwa-Bori Road by Enugu State Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Jan. 5, and the Eleme-Afam-Oyigbo Road to be inaugurated on Wednesday, Jan. 6, by Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume.

”On Friday, Jan. 8, Forces Avenue-Olumeni-Harley Streets will also be inaugurated. Activities for the week will be rounded-off on Saturday, Jan. 9, with the inauguration of the Bonny/Bille Waterside Jetty in Port Harcourt”, Nsirim added.

The commissioner, who stressed that all COVID-19 protocols must be strictly observed at all the venues, quoted Gov. Nyesom Wike as enjoining residents of the affected local governments, to turn out en masse and give the invited guests a taste of Rivers’ traditional hospitality.
