The Managing Director, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited, Adam Nuru, has voluntarily taken a leave from work to enable the bank investigate allegations of unethical conduct levelled against him.

This was contained in a statement issued by FCMB on Tuesday.

“While this is a personal matter, the tragedy of the death of Mr Tunde Thomas and the allegations of unethical conduct require the bank’s board to conduct a review of what transpired, any violations of our code of ethics and the adequacy of this code of ethics,” the statement partly read.

The statement added: “This is already under way. During the period of the review, the managing director has volunteered to proceed on leave. This will guarantee the sanctity of the review process.”

The management of the bank however appealed to all stakeholders to respect the privacy of the families involved.

Eko Hot Blog had reported that over a thousand persons had signed a petition calling for the sack of the embattled MD over alleged infidelity with a former employee of the bank, Moyo Thomas.
