103 Kidnapped Persons In Kastina Rescued
The Kastina state government says about 103 people kidnapped by bandits in the state have now regained their freedom.
Aminu Masari, governor of the state, who disclosed the development, said the rescue operation was aided by collaboration among security agencies — the police, military and air force and Department of State Security.
Ekohotblog reports that Masari made the disclosure when he played host to 77 of the rescued victims at the government house.
The governor said the victims’ freedom was sequel to the rescue of 344 students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara by the state government.
According to Masari, among those rescued were nursing mothers, girls aged from six to 16, a soldier and an anti-riot policeman.
“This is in continuation of the exercise that started with the recovery of the 344 students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara,” Masari said.
The governor said the state leveraged on the opportunity that the Kankara rescue operation presented, adding that the state was working with stakeholders to ensure that it seized the opportunity to bring back as many kidnapped victims as they could.
“We have so far returned 103 of the kidnapped victims and the process is still ongoing. We are doing this as quietly as we can, to make sure that nobody is harmed and further kidnapping is stopped.

Masari said no ransom was paid to the kidnappers, as it was in in the case of the Kankara Schoolboys abduction.
“You have seen how you were rescued. No ransom was paid. this should show that prayer is effective, be patient, may Allah reward you for the difficulties you have gone through.” he said
