COVID-19 UPDATES: Lagos State Government Begins Decontamination Of State Secretariat, Agencies

- The Fumigation is expected to end by January 30th
- COVID-19 protocols will still be observed
The Lagos State Government commenced the fumigation of offices in the State Secretariat buildings and other Government offices yesterday to abridge the second wave of the Covid-19.
Mrs. Belinda Odeneye, The Permanent Secretary, Office of Environmental Services in the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, expressed that the exercise had become necessary to reduce the risk of the spread of the Covid-19 at the Government offices and complexes.
Moreover, She stated that the prevention protocols would continue to take effect in order to control the spread of the Virus until the pandemic is contained.

Mrs Belinda said the decontamination process which commenced on Friday, January 15, 2021 with the Ministries of the Environment and Water Resources, Lands Bureau, and Physical Planning and Urban Development, is expected to end on Saturday January 30, 2021.
The exercise commences at 2pm during the weekdays while it would start at 8am on weekends, urging workers to leave their offices on stipulated days to avoid inhaling chemicals used during decontamination exercise.
