Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari has come under fire following her prolonged absence from the Presidential Villa, Eko Hot Blog gathered.

Recall that many Nigerians have taken to social media in recent months to question the protracted absence of the First Lady, who has been rumoured to be holidaying in the United Arab Emirates.

It was in response to unremitting clamours from Nigerians that Kabiru Dodo, Aisha Buhari’s aide in a statement disclosed that the first lady left the country to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, for medical check-up.

Five months have chimed since the First Lady was last seen in the country, and Nigerians have continued to wonder just how long this medical check up will last. Some Nigerians have again taken to the microblogging platform to slam the president’s wife for leaving Nigeria to a better and secure country.

According to tweets gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, many eminent Nigerians who faulted Patience Jonathan’s repeated trips outside the country have remained silent over Aisha Buhari’s absence in the country.

While some Nigerians reproached Aisha Buhari’s absence as dereliction of her office as First Lady with its attendant responsibilities, others have viewed her absence as confirmation that viral reports about the identity of President Muhammadu Buhari could have some credence after all, since it goes against logic for the First Lady to abandon the President’s side for such an extended period of time without critical cause or reason.
