Spending ₦21bn For National Theatre Renovation Is “Unbelievable” – Sani
A former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has described the approval of ₦21 billion for the renovation of the National Theatre as unbelievable.
Sani, who took to his twitter handle to react to the news, wrote: “National Theatre Is a national treasure that deserves renovation and preservation. I commend the CBN and the FG for the initiative after decades of utter neglect. However, spending N21 Billion for renovation is unbelievable.”

The federal executive council (FEC), on Wednesday, approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and the ministry of information and culture for the renovation of the Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos.
Apart from the National Theatre, the FEC also approved about ₦9.43 billion to complete the digital switch over (DSO) in broadcasting; ₦8.98 billion for a new national ICT park in the federal capital territory (FCT) to coordinate public and private ICT hubs in Nigeria.
