Alleged Basic Salary Of President Buhari, Governors , Senators, Rep Members

1. Our President takes home a basic salary of 3.514, 705 every Month.

Muhammad Buhari effected a salary cut almost immediately he became president, his reason being that there was need to cut Government expenditure. Many Nigerians saw this as a good development. Not only the salary of the President was by 50%, that of his Vice too was cut by the same percentage.

After the Cut, the President salary was reduced to 14 million Naira. This means his basic will be 3,514,705 this amount was public by the revenue mobilization allocation and fiscal Commission.

Other entitlements that make it 14, million Naira are the consistency allowance, which makes up 250% of his annual salary and amounts to 8,786,762.50. Another one is the hardship allowance, which is 50 percent of the basic salary and amounts to 1,757,350.50,  EKO HOT BLOG gathered.

2. Governors take home basic salary.

In Nigeria currently, the take home pay of Governors have quite reduced as opposed to what past Nigerian Governors earned. The reason is simple because of the new policies adopted by the Presidency to manage funds in Nigeria.

The new policy does not only affect the President and Governors but other high ranking Officers in the Nigeria Civil Service.

Currently a Nigerian Governor’s basic salary is 2.22 million, their deputies earn 2.11 million while their Commissioners earn 1.33 million per month.

3. Senators

A senator’s income, including expenses is about 156 million Naira per year.

Senators are entitled to monthly expenses of 13.5m Naira, in addition to their monthly salary of about 1 million.

4. Ministers Salary

The Salary of a substantive minister in 2,026, 400 and Car Refueling and Service is 1,519,000, Domestic Staff is 1,519,000, Entertainment is 911,800, Utilities cost 607,920, personal assistant allowance is 506,600, monitoring allowance is 405,280, Newspapers allowance is 202,640, Tour duty allowance is 35,000, Estacode allowance is 900 dollars per night, house allowance is 4,052, 800, Furniture allowance is 6,079,200, Motor Vehicle loan is 8,105,600.

The amount outlined above is paid to the Ministers on annual basic. The Ministers of State on the other hand receive 88 percent of what the regular Ministers are paid.

5. Nigeria House of Representatives Members Salary

The office running cost of a Member of the House of Representatives is 8.5 million.

A member of the House of Republic Simon Karu, revealed that each member of the House earns 9.3. monthly.

The Lawmaker, who represents Kaltungo/Shongom federal Constituency of Gombe State, stated this at the Nigeria’s 60th anniversary.

He said the Official Salary of a member, House of Representatives which he also receive monthly is 800,000 and office running cost of a member of the House of Representatives is 8.5 million.
