Breaking: Gombe Governor Finally Appoints Danladi Maiyamba As New Mai Tangale
Malam Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba has been named as the new Mai Tangale by the Gombe state governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
Ismaila Uba Misilli, the director-general (press affairs), Government House, Gombe, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday, March 2, according to the Daily Confidence.
The statement stated that Malam Danladi Maiyamba’s appointment was based on his personal qualities and suitability.
Muhammadu Yahaya, the governor of Gombe state, has appointed Danladi Maiyamba as the new Mai Tangale.
“In exercise of the powers vested in him under the Gombe state chieftaincy Law, 2020, and based on the recommendation of the Tangale chiefdom’s kingmakers, the Gombe state governor, Alhaji, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba,” the statement read.
“The appointment of Malam Danladi Maiyamba was told by his personal qualities and suitability,” said Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo, commissioner, ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs, who conveyed the governor’s approval and later submitted the appointment to the new Mai Tangle in Poshiya, Billiri.

“The chairperson of the Billiri local government council, 9 Kingmakers of the Billiri chiefdom, members of the traditional council, and other functionaries were present at the presentation ceremony.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously claimed that the Billiri chieftaincy squabble in Gombe state had devolved into full-fledged religious abuse, with a mosque and many other properties being repossessed.
The sad development reportedly drew a response from President Muhammadu Buhari, who expressed shock and deep concern.
On Sunday, February 21, the president’s reaction was released in a statement by Garba Shehu, his senior special assistant on media and publicity.
