BREAKING: Court Remands 13 For Allegedly Attacking Gov. Akeredolu’s Convoy
- A Magistrate Court sitting in Akure on Thursday has ordered the remand of 13 persons for allegedly attacking the convoy of the Governor of Ondo state, Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu.
- The remanded persons were arraigned before the court on three-count charges of conspiracy, willful and unlawful damage of three vehicles in the governor’s convoy.
A Magistrate Court sitting in Akure on Thursday has ordered the remand of 13 persons for allegedly attacking the convoy of the Governor of Ondo state, Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu.
The defendants were earlier arrested for allegedly attacking the governor’s convoy in Idanre town, Idanre Local Government Area where Akeredolu visited to commission some projects as part of his lined up events for his second term inauguration last week
The defendants are; Tommy Oluseyi, Akinola Segun, Ahmed Onabanjo, Akinmolayan Sunday, Dele Oni, Akinbi Odunayo, Akinbadewa Michael, and Akinduro Akinjo.

Others included Olowolowo Blessing, Godwin Sunday, Akintomide Adeleye, Ojo Temitope and Smart Babatunde
They were arraigned before the court on three-count charges of conspiracy, willful and unlawful damage of three vehicles in the governor’s convoy.
The police prosecutor, Mary Adebayo said the defendants conspired to attack the governor’s convoy and damaged three vehicles in the governor’s convoy, adding that the offence committed contravened Sections 517, 451 and 249(D) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of the Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
Adebayo urged the court to remand the defendants in prison to enable her to gather her witnesses for the trial.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The defence counsel, Mr Adeleye Akintububo, prayed the court to grant his clients’ bail in most liberal terms, promising that they would not jump bail, but produce substantial sureties.
