Rivers: ‘The Storm Is Over’, Says APC On S’Court Verdict
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the impasse and imbroglio that has characterised the affairs of the party in Rivers is now a thing of the past.
Ekohotblog reports that the state chapter of the party said this in reaction to the judgement of the supreme Court over who the real chairman of the party in the state is.
Reacting to the development, Ogbonna Nwuke, the State Publicity Secretary, in a statement, said the apex Court judgement has cleared all impediments and obstacles in the paths of the party.
He noted that the court ended all conflicts relating to the authentic Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee.
The spokesman described Igo Aguma as “a meddlesome tombo fly,” who had no right to challenge the right of the party to choose leaders of its committee.
“Based on the ruling, Isaac Ogbobula is the authentic Chairman; it is now clear that the obstacles placed on the way of the APC in Rivers State have been removed.”
“Now that the storm is over, we wish to state categorically that our doors are open to receive all who believe in the mission of the APC,” he added.
Nwuke said in spite of the defeat Magnus Abe’s supporters have suffered, the door would not be shut against them.
Recall that Abe’s allies, Igo Aguma who was declared Interim APC Chairman by a court, and Livingstone Wechie, resigned from the APC after the apex court’s verdict.
