What Military Should Do To End Banditry – Kastina Gov., Masari

Aminu Masari, Katsina state governor, says for the military to rid the country of the banditry that pervades the north-west and north-central, it needs to launch a simultaneous and relentless assault on the bandits.

Masari, who gave the advice when he received the service chiefs led by Lucky Irabor, chief of defence staff, at the government house, Katsina, on Tuesday, said the bandits often move to another location after they are dislodged and sent parking from a state.

He noted that the same set of bandits have been moving from one state to another to unleash terror on people.

“Unless and until these criminals are simultaneously fought, no meaningful result will be achieved,” he said.

“You will always find out that if you overpower them in one area, they move to another.

“It is the same people that move to Zamfara and Niger states to continue with their criminalities.”

The governor promised to assist the military in their operations in the state.

Commenting, Irabor said the service chiefs were in the state to assess the operations of their officers in the area.
