Kano Governor, Kano State

In Kano State, a local government area councillor has announced the appointment of eighteen (18) aides to help him carry out his duties.

Muslihu Yusuf Ali, who represents the Guringawa ward of the Kumbotso Local Government Area in Kano State, said the appointment will help the area develop.

“This is to notify the general public of the appointment of my aides,” the councillor wrote in his appointment letter, which was seen by Daily Trust.

“Their responsibilities are to assist me in carrying out my responsibilities in various endeavors to ensure the Guringawa community’s development, progress, welfare, security, and well-being,” he said.

Personal Assistant (PA) Sulaiman Ibrahim Bako, Principal Private Secretary (PPS) Yahaya Abdu Yahaya, New Media Team Kamalu Garba LY, and Special Adviser on Religious Affairs Usama Umar Zubair have all been appointed.

Other positions include S.A. Empowerment and Humanitarian Affairs, S.A. Social Media, S.A. Non-Governmental Organizations and Social Investment, and S.A. Political Affairs, to name a few.

Eko hot blog gathered that the aides will be installed at the Kumbotso Local Government Area secretariat on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Uche Nwosu, the Action Alliance’s governorship candidate in Imo State for 2019, has asked Governor Hope Uzodinma to warn his aides against attacking his predecessor, Senator Rochas Okorocha.

Nwosu told reporters in Abuja on Wednesday that the governor should rein in his aides so that the feud between him and Okorocha does not worsen.

He called the duo’s spat uncalled for and urged the APC leadership to mediate a settlement between them in the party’s best interests.

Okorocha’s son-in-law, Nwosu, advised the governor to stay on the path of peace, dialogue, and reconciliation to avoid the state falling into crisis.

When asked about the quest for an Igbo presidency, Nwosu advised Igbo leaders to present a candidate who is widely acceptable if they want to win the presidency in 2023.

He believes that only a candidate who is accepted and supported by all other zones, rather than one who is perceived as an Igbo candidate, can guarantee the Southeast’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.

Regardless of current differences among Southeast political leaders, Nwosu expressed optimism that they would come together at the right time to pursue and actualize the Igbo agenda.
