Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has unveiled Lateef Jakande Leadership Fellowship Academy in honour of the late former governor of the state, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande.
Sanwo-Olu made this known during the tributes in honour of Late Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande who died in February at the age of 91.
“We are going to set up an endowment to be called Lateef Jakande leadership fellowship academy.
“This is what we believe that the transformational leadership that Alhaji stood for that indeed we can create leaders of tomorrow on a year-on-year basis, we can have 20 or 30 leaders that can stand and live the spirit and aspiration of Alhaji Lateef Jakande.
“That will be backed up by the enabling act and law, and we will give it a treat that generations that are coming behind us will not be able to reverse,” the governor said.
Sanwo-Olu added that Jakande died a happy man saying the former governor ruled on four cardinal principles, and now his administration is guided by six pillars of agenda.
He further admonished the family to live with their shoulders high, stating that many political leaders today benefited from Baba’s legacy.
“Alhaji Jakande is an epitome of what all of us are standing for today. Everything in Lagos has an emblem of Jakande in it, to immortalise Jakande is an everyday thing as a government,” the governor added.
