Speaking in an interview with EKO HOT BLOG after the resolution, The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo said the resolution was not predicated on sectional interest or political sentiments, but upon a careful deliberation on the kind of leadership Nigeria needs to overcome its daunting challenges in the areas of insecurity, unemployment, ethnic jingoism, education, amongst other crucial problems currently besieging Nigeria’s corporate existence. He exercised confidence that the leadership of Asiwaju would place Nigeria firmly on the launchpad to political and economic prosperity once again.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Ganiyu Asunmo Aderigbigbe, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, who also spoke after the meeting cited Asiwaju’s political antecedents as evidence to prove his ability to steer Nigeria towards greatness again. He noted the massive infrastructural development recorded in Lagos State during Tinubu’s administration as well as the boisterous economic climate engendered by his unrivalled political acumen which has made Lagos State the economic hub of Sub-Saharan Africa today.
From the foregoing, there are firm indications suggesting that the National Leader of the ruling party is warming up to join the 2023 Presidential race, even though the veteran politician is yet to formally flag off a campaign to that effect; and, as the clock continues to tick against the next general elections season, more quarters of the society from the Southwest and beyond have continued to implore Jagaban to once again deploy his rich political sagacity to the benefit of all Nigerians.
