Three Reasons President Buhari Is Meeting With His Service Chiefs Today
Yesterday, the Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina told Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari will be embarking on a medical trip to the United Kingdom
According to him, the president is going for a routine medical check-up and is expected to be back in the country during the second week of April, 2021.
But before departing, the Presidential spokesman said the president would specifically meet with his Service Chiefs to give standing instructions while he’s away.
Their meeting which is expected to begin anytime soon would be largely based on the recent happenings in the country, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
Firstly, Buhari would be briefed on the ongoing onslaught against the deadly Boko Haram Insurgents. As you know, the Chief of Army Staff Ibrahim Attahiru, recently reaffirmed the military’s readiness to end the nine-year insurgency by deploying new tactics. He’s expected to get the president backing in that direction.
Also, the issue of the kidnapped students in Kaduna and Feminine members of the Redeem Christian Church of God, RCCG, who were also abducted last weekend remain paramount on the list of things that must be resolved as soon as possible.
In that regard, the President is expected to issue new directive to the entire security apparatus to find a long lasting end to all forms of banditary that exists most especially in the country.
Lastly, the need to end the agitation by regional warlords like Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho is also top on the agenda as the president departs on a two weeks medical leave.
