  • An abandoned house is a vacant Property due to foreclosure, bankruptcy, and financial or illegal reasons.
  • Since most homes are abandoned due to financial reasons, they are generally depleted and need renovating.

Some of the abandoned buildings are owned by the Federal government and ever since these buildings were abandoned, it has become home to miscreants and Robbers,  EKO HOT BLOG gathered.

(1)The National Provident Fund Building

The National Provident Fund Building now known as Nigeria Social insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) on Essure Street, Iyana Era, along Lagos Badagry-Lagos Expressway is the perfect definition of concrete jungle, a colossal waste of resources.

(2) Hotel and conference centre Projects of the Murtala Muhammed Airport

For over 12 years, the Hotel and conference centre Projects of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos have remained abandoned following the protracted legal tussle over the concession agreement between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Concessionaire, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), Operations of the Murtala Muhammed Airport terminal two(MMA2).

 

(3) General Sani Abacha’s Building

This 18 Storey Building was abandoned by late General Sani Abacha. The building rests on two acres of land located at Iyana Era, along Badagry Expressway. Ijanikin Lagos State.

It is alleged that the late former head of state under his military regime started the building but left it halfway because of his death.

Since the death of the General, no Government official, both State, or Federal has done anything to renovate or complete the building, even his family members.
