Attack On Buhari In UK, Assault On Nigeria’s Integrity – CCSN

The assault on President Muhammadu Buhari in the United Kingdom has been described by the Conference of Civil Society of Nigeria (CCSN) as an attack on Nigeria’s reputation.

CCSN condemned the attack on President Buhari, saying it came at an inopportune time and was unnecessary, particularly given the country’s security challenges.

Recall that the President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, said last Tuesday that Buhari would fly to London for a routine medical checkup and return in the second week of April.

The attack was characterized as “unpatriotic and a direct assault on the dignity of the entire country” by the Chairperson of the Conference, Comrade Adams Otakwu, who spoke to journalists in Abuja on the issue of “Building National Unity Peace and Security in Nigeria.”

“The country is already going through a lot, particularly with the menacing insecurity and COVID 19 pandemic,” he said, adding that the protest is unnecessarily timed.

“Right now, our most pressing need is for people and government to work together to overcome all of the country’s challenges.”

To combat the threats of insecurity and underdevelopment, Otakwu called for concerted action and determination on the part of all people.

He expressed the expectation that Nigeria will grow to her rightful place of pride in the international community, assuring the international community that Nigeria remains the best global investment destination.
