Speaking further, Obafemi Hamzat opined that the establishment of the ICAN in Epe District was a laudable achievement which will bring a sense of belonging to all members around Epe community.

The establishment of ICAN in Epe, he said, would to a large extent help act as an interface between members and the umbrella body. He also noted that it will encourage grassroots mobilization of members, networking and effective communication of the institute’s objectives and activities.

The Deputy Governor said he was happy that indigenous sons and daughters of Epe are making landmark achievements with the expected global best practices as Chartered Accountants.

“I am happy that here in Epe, we have our prominent sons and daughters both in the public and private sectors who are making us proud as Chartered Accountants and are truly upholding the ethics, standard and competence expected of accountants in the world “, he stated.

The former Lagos Commissioner for Works was confident that the institute will help to achieve better financial accountability, transparency and reduce corruption.

He charged Accountants from Epe to stand out and be known for excellence anywhere they find themselves and hoped the establishment of the district will serve as a veritable platform to achieve such.

He also admonished other professional bodies in Epe to emulate the ICAN initiative while also assuring that the present administration will continue to assist and offer necessary advice to ensure the progress of the District in Epe.
