Emirate Council Suspends Kankara District Head For Alleged Role In Banditry
- The Emirate Council of the Katsina State has suspended the district head of Kankara where over 100 Schoolgirls were Kidnapped earlier this year.
- Lawal the district head was suspended because of his alleged role in aiding Banditry in the state.
Katsina Emirate Council has suspended the Sarkin Pauwan Katsina, who is also the district head of Kankara, Yusuf Lawal.
He was suspended following complaints from security agencies and some residents of the district over his alleged involvement in supporting banditry activities in his domain.

Lawal’s suspension was contained a statement issued by Iro Bindawa, the Secretary of the Katsina Emirate Council, on behalf of the Emir, Alhaji Abdulmunini Kabir Usman.
The statement dated 30th of April, 2021 takes immediate effect.
“The district head has been suspended and he is currently under investigation. The outcome of the investigation will determine the next line of action to be taken by the Emirate,” Bindawa said.
