Iniobong Umoren: Fresh Twist As Police Report Accuses LGA Chairman In Raped Job Seeker’s Death
- The very sad details surrounding the late Hiny Umoren, a job seeker who was murdered when she responded to a deceptive job interview in Akwa Ibom state, has sent shivers down the spines of Nigerians.
- The last 24 hours have been very traumatic for her relations and friends as it was discovered yesterday that the young lady was raped and murdered by one Uduak Akpan.
The fresh twist in the story is the current police report that was issued concerning the death of the young lady, Iniobong Umoren.
Recall earlier reports had suggested that the LGA chairman of the location where the suspect was found, Surv Ekpenyiong had after hearing the suspect’s confession, invited the DPO of the LGA and handed him over to the police.
But the recent statement from the police has debunked that information.
Rather the police have indicted the chairman of the LGA stating that the suspect had in fact, reported to the chairman and after doing that, he had run away to Calabar.
This has raised so much dust in the state with people asking why the LGA chairman did not act immediately he heard the chilling brutal confessions.
Others have also, questioned why the LGA chairman had allowed the boy to run away after the confession.
From the police report as posted by the Governor’s special assistant on media, Aniekeme Finbarr, the Command first received the signal on the disappearance of the victim on the 30th of April 2021.

Thereafter, the Men of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Command, led by CSP Inengiye IGOSI, had moved in following the already made investigations by the DPO Uruan LGA, SP Samuel Ezeugo, and an arrest was made.
The suspect had confessed to have lured his victim to his house after promising to give her a job but ended up sexually and physically assaulting her which led to her death.
After the ugly act, he had buried her in a shallow grave in his father’s compound.
The police had since exhumed the deceased and deposited her corpse at UUTH for autopsy, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
