Lagos Police Rescue Abandoned One-Month-Old Baby

The one-month-old baby was said to have been rescued at the Orile area in Lagos State.
This was made known by the Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, via a statement on Friday.
According to Adejobi, the baby was found at 8am at the junction of Odun-Ade Filling Station.

He added that the abandoned baby was sighted by passers-by who alerted the operatives attached to Orile Division.
The police spokesman further stated that the newborn baby has been handed over to the Gender Unit of the Police Command in Ikeja, Lagos.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the baby be accorded proper medical attention and taken to an accredited shelter for custody and proper care.
Odumosu reassured the residents of the state that the security agency would continue to work with stakeholders and partners to make Lagos safe.
