BREAKING: Anxiety In Osogbo Over Protest By Suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’
- The residents of Osogbo, the Osun State capital, were thrown into panic in the early hours of Tuesday as some suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’ stormed the streets to protest against alleged arrest by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
- It was further learnt that the youths and other suspected fraudsters stopped the EFCC operatives from getting out of the state.
The residents of Osogbo, the Osun State capital, were thrown into panic in the early hours of Tuesday as some suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo boys’ stormed the streets to protest against alleged arrest by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that operatives of the anti-graft agency stormed Adetunji Estate and Hallelujah Estate in Osogbo to arrest the ‘Yahoo Boys’ on Monday night but the youths in the area waylaid the operatives and prevented them from allegedly taking away 20 vehicles belonging to the suspects.

It was further learnt that the youths and other suspected fraudsters stopped the EFCC operatives from getting out of the estates, forcing the operatives to abandon the vehicles and ran from the scene.
However, the suspected internet fraudsters, in the early hours of Tuesday, stormed Lameco Junction and Dele Yes Sir Junction in Osogbo to make bonfires and mount roadblocks as the development caused heavy gridlock in all the roads adjoining the junctions.
