Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Kill 12 In Benue Fresh Attack
- Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly killed 12 people in Benue fresh attack.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that no fewer than 12 residents have been reported dead following an attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen on some communities in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.
The latest attack, it was gathered, occurred in the early hours of Sunday.
EKO HOT BLOG understands that several people have been reported missing with over 5,000 people displaced in the state.
The latest development was confirmed by the lawmaker representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Francis Otta Agbo.

The lawmaker noted that Izzi settlements of Tologa, Ndi-Obasi, Odoken in Ekile Ward Ado LGA were affected by the attack, adding that Izzi people in Obakoto, Odirewu, Offianka, Nwedoga in Ijigban Ward have been deserted over fear of being attacked by the Fulani herdsmen.
EKO HOT BLOG further gathered that the suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded the communities between 11pm on Saturday till early hours of Sunday, killing residents.
The Chairman of Ado Local Government, James Oche, who confirmed the simultaneous attack on five communities in Ekile ward, disclosed that 12 persons were killed by the Fulani herdsmen.
Oche added that a combined team of security agencies have been deployed to the area to beef up security.
The Benue State Command spokesperson, DSP Catherine Anene, has not reacted to the latest attack as of the time of writing this report.
