  • Governor Matawalle has sacked his Chief of Staff, SSG, and commissioners.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, the Chief of Staff, Colonel Bala Mande (rtd), and all 23 commissioners with immediate effect.

Governor Matawalle made this known via a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Media and Communication, Alhaji Zailani Baffa.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the governor also approved the sack of all chairmen and members of the state commissions and boards of various agencies.

Governor Matawalle, however, directed all the commissioners to hand over the affairs of their ministries to their respective permanent secretaries while the chairmen of dissolved boards were directed to hand over to the most senior directors.

The statement read,  “The Ministry of Security and Home Affairs would be overseen by Rtd DIG Mohammed Ibrahim Tsafe.

“The Governor also directed the Chairmen of Commissions and Boards to hand over to their most senior directors.

“The Head of Service will oversee the office of the Secretary to the State Government,” Governor Matawalle stated.
