  • Unknown gunmen have killed the wife of a former commissioner in Oyo State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that unknown gunmen, in the early hours of Friday, killed the wife of Peter Odetomi, a former commissioner in Oyo State.

It was gathered that the wife of the ex-commissioner was killed at her family residence in Ashi, Bodija, Ibadan, the state capital.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that Odetomi was the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and later the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development during the administration of Abiola Ajimobi.

Odetomi was also the former Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government Area.

Speaking on the incident on Friday, a resident of Ashi disclosed that the unknown gunmen stormed the area on a motorbike.

“It is true. I saw people rushing to our area now. Someone called my attention to it a few minutes ago. It happened around 10 am on Friday. I heard they came on a motorcycle,” the resident disclosed.

However, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached for comment as of the time of writing this report.
