Seven Facts You May Not Know About The Late Rachael Oniga

Veteran Nollywood actress Rachael Oniga passed on late Friday after a brief illness at the age of 64.

She reportedly died around 10pm in her Lagos residence after returning from a movie set

Her son, Olatunji, said the actress died from malaria and typhoid.

1. She was born Rachel Tabuno Oniga on 23 May 1957 in Ebute Metta, Lagos State.

2. The actress is an indigene of Delta State.

3. She began her acting career in 1993, shortly after her marriage ended.

1. She worked briefly at Ascoline Nigeria Limited, a Dutch Consultant Energy Firm before starring in her first movie titled ‘Onome’.

2. She made her entrance into the Yoruba movie industry through ‘Owo Blow’ in 1997.

4. Prior to her demise, Rachael Oniga featured in many Nollywood movies and soaps, including ‘The Wedding Party’, ‘The Royal Hibiscus Hotel’, ‘Out Of Bounds’, among others.
