A former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has vituperated President Muhammadu Buhari, insisting that the President deserves to be ousted from office more than the two Ministers he recently relieved from their ministerial designations.
Eko Hot Blog reported earlier that the President, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 sacked Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohammed Sabo Nanono, and the Minister of Power, Sale Mamman over what he described as a “tradition of subjecting our projects and programmes implementation to independent and critical self-review.”
The dismissed ministers have since been replaced by the Minister of Environment, Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar, and the Minister of State, Works & Housing, Abubakar D. Aliyu.
Speaking via his verified Facebook handle, Reno Omokri questioned the rationale behind sacking the ministers on the premise of poor performance when the President’s own scorecard has been more abysmal, reprehensible and utterly insufferable.
The former media aide cited Nigeria’s dwindling economy, leadership ineptitude, as well as the increasing tide of insecurity as putative reasons why Mr Buhari should not occupy the highest office in the land.
He recalled how the President and his cronies led calls for President Goodluck Jonathan’s sack in 2014 over the same leadership failures President Buhari is now culpable of, and moreso in exponential proportions.
“Buhari sacked two ministers over failure to deliver. Fine. So, what should we do with a President who met Naira at ₦199 to $1 and has it currently at almost ₦500 to $1? Who met debt of ₦12 trillion and has it current at over ₦34 trillion? Beyond that, more schoolchildren and students have been abducted in Nigeria in 2021, than were abducted throughout the five years of former President Jonathan. Now, let us remember that Buhari asked Jonathan to resign over those incidents and other insecurities. Should we not expect the same from Buhari now? In fact, Buhari deserves sack more than his two ministers,” Reno Omokri wrote on Facebook.
