BREAKING: Gunmen Kidnap Nigerian Lawmaker’s Wife, Children
- Gunmen have kidnapped a Nigerian lawmaker’s wife and children.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted the wife and children of a lawmaker representing Bakori Constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly, Dr. Ibrahim Kurami.
It was gathered that the gunmen abducted the lawmaker’s wife and children at their residence located at the country home of the lawmaker in Kurami village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Residents disclosed that the assailants stormed the house of the lawmaker around 9pm on Saturday, shortly after Muslims’ night prayers, and shot at a member of the First Aid Group of Islam, who was at the main gate.
It was learnt that the victim sustained injuries from the gunshots and was later rushed to a hospital for treatment.
However, the gunmen, EKOHOTBLOG gathered, abducted the lawmaker’s wife and two children as they were whisked away to an unknown destination.
It was further learnt that the lawmaker had left for Katsina to participate in Saturday’s APC Council Congress when the incident occurred.

Meanwhile, the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, could not be reached for comment as his telephone lines continuously rang out in the early hours of Sunday.
The police spokesperson was also yet to respond to the text message sent to him as of press time.
