JUST IN: Again, Bandits Strike In Sokoto, Kill One, Abduct Scores
- Bandits have again struck in Sokoto, killed one, and abducted scores of residents.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed one person and abducted several others in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The latest attack was confirmed by the Sokoto State Police Command on Saturday.
According to the spokesperson of the Command, ASP Sunusi Abubakar, the attack by the bandits occurred on Friday evening.
He said, “We have received a report of an attack by unknown gunmen who stormed the headquarters of Tangaza LGA on Friday evening.
“The bandits killed one of the traders, abducted yet an unspecified number of people and in the process carted away foodstuffs and drinks.

“However, the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, are still investigating the matter,” the police spokesperson stated.
Also speaking on the incident, a resident of the community disclosed that the gunmen, who shot sporadically, killed the trader on the spot and another young girl who died after being taken to the hospital.
The source further revealed that three other people sustained injuries and have been receiving treatment in a hospital.
“However, the timely intervention of security agencies, alongside local vigilante, had led to the rescue of one of the five children abducted by the gunmen,” the resident disclosed.
