Kwara Govt To Commence Relief Work On Damaged Oko-Olowo Road
- Kwara State Government will soon commence some relief work on the damaged portion of the Oko Olowo section of the Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa expressway, EkoHotBlog reports.
The Commissioner for Works Rotimi Iliasu Suleiman who said this on Sunday noted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved that some relief works be immediately done on the federal road to halt the use of township roads by heavy duty vehicles with its attendant consequences on the roads and safety of lives, especially school children.
“The relief work will begin once the rain subsides in the coming weeks (October). We appeal for patience and calm. Please help us appeal to your members to be patient as we are definitely doing something on the road pending when the Federal government will fix it,”
“This is Kwara. We are a peaceful and accommodating people. We cannot afford to let what is happening elsewhere to happen to us, whereby people will be locked out in traffic as a result of dispute over road. So, His Excellency has asked us to beg you to give us some time to effect some relief on the bad road. This will immediately take trailers off our inner roads.”
