64-year-old grandfather defiles six-year-old girl in Ondo

Ekohotblog reports that in Ondo State, a 64-year-old man is accused of defiling a six-year-old child.
The suspect, Ajayi Awe, a grandpa, reportedly committed the crime at his house at B/98 Daja Ajowa-Akoko in the Akoko North West Local Government Area of the State.
Mrs. Fatimah Obademi, the victim’s mother, who raised the alarm, said that her daughter informed her of the situation following certain concerns.
The distraught mother, who was claimed to be enraged by Awe’s actions against her daughter, immediately reported the incident to the Okeagbe-Akoko Divisional Police Headquarters.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Funmi Odunlami, stated that the suspect had been apprehended and was now in police custody.
The victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment, according to the PPRO, and the suspect admitted to defiling the little child.
Odunlami further stated that after the inquiry was completed, the suspect will be charged and prosecuted in court.
