Former Lawmakers, APC Chieftains Dump Party For PDP

Former lawmakers and APC chieftains have dumped the party for PDP.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Monday Igbuya, and other past lawmakers, have joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The defection by the lawmakers was announced by the governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, who received the decampees at Sapele Stadium on Saturday.
Speaking, the governor stated that he welcomed returnees and decampees during a mega rally that was organised by the Delta Central zone of the party, adding that the former lawmakers and chieftains defected from the opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Okowa said, “Earlier today, at the Mega Rally organized by the leadership of our party in Delta Central to welcome returnees and decampees at Sapele Stadium, I emphasized that if we want our great party, PDP, to continue building the #StrongerDelta that we have started to build, we must remain united.

“I welcome all the new decampees from the All Progressive Congress led by a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Monday Igbuya, which includes a former member of House of Representatives, Solomon Edoja; Julius Akpovoka, Francis Aguonigho, Spin Ogboru, Anthony Enakpoya, and David Ukueku.
“It is my hope that working together, we will deliver all the wards and local governments in our state to PDP in the next general election,” the governor stated.
